The Book List:– Vol. 8 is here! It’s been a while, but I’m back sharing my latest must reads for book lovers. Time to add a few new titles to your TBR!
Life is busy, am I right?—balancing work, family, and creating for Roxbury Place often leaves my days feeling too short. Still, I always make time for reading. It’s one of my few daily rituals I refuse to give up. Whether it’s a few pages before bed, a chapter before I turn on my laptop for the day or an audiobook while folding the 5th basket of laundry I always find time to read. Not only do I love reading but I also love sharing good books with people. So this week, I’m stepping away from sewing and style to share some of my latest must reads for book lovers.
1. Morbidly Yours — Funerals, Feelings & Unexpected Romance
This is not your typical rom-com. A painfully shy mortician (Callum) in Galway, Ireland is about to lose his family business unless he gets married. Enter new next door neighbor Lark. A recent widow from Texas who is trying to move on. She and Callum become friends and she when she hears about his predicament she offers to help him find wife. I’m sure you can figure out what happens next! Morbidly Yours

2. The Wedding People — Oysters, Heartbreak & Unexpected Friendship

Untethered and desperate to quiet the ache, she makes a choice that takes her to the Cornwall Hotel in Newport, RI. Before she can act on the drastic decision she thought she’d made, she finds herself in the middle of a bustling wedding party. The Wedding People

3. Holmes, Marple & Poe — A New Spin on Classic Characters
Three detectives. Names you know. Secrets you don’t. In this crime thriller, Holmes, Marple, and Poe tackle a string of connected crimes while we slowly uncover the mysteries of their own lives. Not everything is revealed—there’s more to come in the second book, Holmes is Missing. Holmes, Marple & Poe

4. Behind Every Good Man — 60’s Housewife Rewrites Politics
Beverly Diamond is a D.C. homemaker, mother, and wife to Larry Diamond—the campaign manager for the incumbent senator favored to win reelection. When Beverly catches Larry fooling around with his secretary, she doesn’t get mad. She gets even—by joining the rival’s campaign. But can Beverly’s move secure revenge and put her candidate in the Senate? Behind Every Good Man

5. The Bookclub for Troublesome Women — Cocktails, Confessions, Quiet Revolutions
Similar in spirit to Behind Every Good Man, The Bookclub for Troublesome Women follows four very different suburban D.C. women in the 1960s. Hoping to get to know Charlotte Gustafson—the outspoken, stylish new arrival—Margaret Ryan invites her to an impromptu book club meeting. Charlotte agrees, but only if they read The Feminine Mystique. After diving into the book, Margaret and her friends Vivian and Bitsy begin to question the roles they’ve been living in their marriages—and what it might mean to want something more.
