I bought this Stretch Cotton Sateen at none other than Mood Fabrics. It also comes in this gorgeous turquoise color as well. Sadly I ordered this online. Going to the actual NY store is like a trip to the Holy Land for those of us who sew.
It is truly a treat. They have anything you could want and more. Wool, linen, suede, silk ,faux fur, real full and the list goes on and on. If you can’t find what you are looking for at Mood it doesn’t exist.

I used McCall’s 6118 for this fun little number. The pattern is designed as either a top or a short dress, but I had something a bit more dramatic in mind. I extended the length to create a flowing maxi and kept the one-shoulder silhouette, which was simple enough to let the bold fabric take center stage. It was an easy adjustment that gave the pattern an entirely new look.

final thoughts
This dress was never going to be a quiet addition to my closet, and that is exactly why I love it.
