DIY Quilted Circle Skirt // The Last Wintery Hurrah!

I know nobody really wants to talk about winter now that spring is slowly poking its head out. But this is my last winter post I promise. My last wintery hurrah if you will, and then it’s nothing but spring full steam ahead!

This diy quilted circle skirt is not only cute, but very easy to make. I actually made it in an afternoon, using this pattern I purchased from Etsy. The pattern is great because it gives you multiple versions of a circle skirt. For those that might not know a circle skirt can be made in multiple styles, a 1/4 circle (or a-line skirt) a 1/2 circle, a 3/4 circle, a full circle and a double circle skirt…phew! that’s a lot of options. This pattern is great because it gives you all the options. I used the half circle patter for this skirt and the 1/4 pattern for my black and gold glam skirt.

The fabric came from Joann’s last winter. They still have it in stock and now have a lot of fun colors. I’d love to buy some pink or navy. I think the navy would make great pair of pants.

It took me a while to make something with this fabric. I wasn’t very motivated this winter to sew. I will say quarantine got the better of me for a little bit, but I eventually got back to it. That is part of the reason why I am sharing this diy quilted circle skirt in the end of March.

The fabric was nice and thick so I didn’t need to line it. That is also part of the reason it didn’t take me very long to make. Not having to add a lining is one less step. However, I did pockets! I don’t know why it took me so long to put pockets in my projects. It actually very easy, and from now on I am going to put them in everything!

I paired it with a navy blue sweater, matching navy shoes, and a navy velvet clutch from Ann Taylor that I bought last year. There is a lot of matching going on here. Even though the skirt is cream I had a hard time figure out what I could wear with it.

Au revior winter! see you next year!

Thanks for reading. Hope you are having a good week!
